Highlights of Thanksgiving with my family...

1. Tonight, my 15 year old cousin explained how they kill turkeys. According to him, the food channel says that turkeys are drowned in the seasoning you are going to cook them in. It helps them keep the flavor. There is no telling what the food channel actually said. Because I am pretty sure you don't drown a turkey feathers and all in water with herbs and spices in it. It is a pretty fantastic visual though. This left me laughing hysterically, sent water shooting out my nose, and left me giggling the rest of the night.

2. Because both mom and my cousin have birthdays in November we also had a birthday cake and presents. My cousin picked out his own jeans. He was so excited because they had holes in them like all the cool kids.

What he didn't realize is that because my grandmother does not believe in ever sending her grand kids to school with holes in there clothes... she fixed them...
The end product.

The look on his face was fantastic. He went from excitement to sadness in 2.4 seconds. We all laughed hysterically of course. Poor kid.

3. My 91 year old diabetic aunt refused to have dinner tonight. She ate, 1 tiny slice of turkey, 1 tsp of candied yams, 1 tsp of mashed potatoes with gravy and 1 t tsp of dressing. She was saving for dessert. For dessert she knocked out a piece of chocolate cake, a piece of pecan pie, and a piece of mince meat pie. She sure didn't hold back on the sweets! I can't wait to be old!
My cousin and I are already planning our escape from the old folks home. I plan to give my kids hell!
